Unnecessary Air bag deployment
I was driving by 2005 X5 when I drove over a 4 inch curb in a parking lot and all the side airbags deployed! My car was barely at 1 mile per hour at that time. Is this a problem with all the drivers on X5? Can anyone suggest how to handle this mess?

RE: Unnecessary Air bag deployment
This seems to be a serious problem. The BMW has to take this seriously.

Insurance companies do not pay for such losses. But the BMW has maintains that it’s not a problem with the model and can be dealt with local mechanics. This isn’t fair.

I own a 2007 x5 and have experienced a similar problem. The airbags deploy unwarrantedly and ripped my headliner several times. It also messes up with the alarm system and the lights.

RE: Unnecessary Air bag deployment
Better avoid purchasing side airbags. It can deploy unnecessarily (I mean even if you go over a curb).
